MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Good morning to all!

Well, Christmas is just 2 days away!!

I must admit, this has been a tougher season for me than usual.
Just have had a hard time 'finding that Christmas spirit' this year.

However, this has been a Very rough year. There just has been A Lot of health difficulties with family and friends, deaths, family member child custody, traveling a lot of a family member, the 'appearance of an estranged family member', caring for a post surgical VERY difficult family member (sadly is my mom) who has Narcissistic Borderline Personality Disorder, and several other mental issues.

Much more has also gone on, too much to even begin to detail here.
Suffice it to say? It has been a rough year that I am grateful to bid goodbye to ??!!

I have spent most of it on a spiritual roller coaster ride, sadly. Spent more time feeling frustrated and kinda angry at the Lord, to be honest?!

As we approach this season of His birth? I am finding myself reflecting a bit more, thinking a Lot more on how to move forward WITH HIM, standing right beside me , guiding and helping and strengthening me to do this battle called life!!

It is rarely easy? But how much harder do we make it when we allow it to work against us if we forget that we have an Almighty Savior that loves us and wants to do our battles not just beside us!?! But For Us!!!!!

I am thankful that this baby was born in this world! This Savior of mine!
'For into us a child is born'.........

This Child who became God in the Flesh and died for our sins.

I am Sooooo very thankful for Christ , my Savior! Thankful that thru it ALL, my doubts, my fears, my good days and not good days........He loves me, He forgives me and He stands beside me at All times!!!!

No matter what your life has been like, no matter what you may be facing now?? Believe me that Brenda and I 'get it'. Chances are we have or are been there too!

Join with us this holiday season as we begin anew and afresh. We desire a brand new season with our Lord. A new season of a stronger walk with Him!

We are so blessed to have in our hearts this Baby Jesus!!
If you don't know Him, please take the time this Christmas to search your heart for this baby born of a virgin, who came to take on the sins of mankind.

SO very thankful that He did!!!

Best Wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!!

Hugs and Blessings,
Linda

Decorating Day!!!!

Good morning to all!

Today is decorating day at the apt. Dd and I will ready the place for Christmas!

I enjoy putting up lights and decorations on the balcony. Begins to get me in the spirit of Christmas!

After my day yesterday??? I really need the Christmas spirit lifted!
Had 3 of my gkids over, which I love to do! Ever have those 'kid' days that just don't go so well??Pretty sure that you moms and gmas out there know what I mean??
The kids acted up all day. Fighting with each other, arguing with me.. It rained all day and many of the downtown Christmas events were cancelled. The rest Supossedly free' ones that I had hoped to enjoy with them? The 3 events would have cost over a hundred bucks! Really? Good grief!!!

So, the day just kept going from bad to worse with grumpy kids and grumpy gma!!
Chatted with Brenda last nite and vented. Thank you, dear friend, for reminding me that we are not alone. Every mom and gma has those rough days! Truth be told, prob more often than not !! Scream!! Lol!

Well, anyway , today is a new day. A new start and fresh beginning!

I am soooo very thankful that the Lord grants us a new beginning each day! Aren't you! I make mistakes far more than I want to! In my faith , and in my roles as mom, gma and friend.

I am so thankful that He will begin a fresh day with me. It is my prayer that this new day, I do a better job of showing His love and being His servant, and trusting Him more!!!

My He bless your day today, ladies!

Welcome to our new followers!

Blessings,

Linda

The Christmas season is upon us!!!

Good morning to all!!
Can you believe that the last month of this year is upon us???

In many ways, this has been and still is.....a VERY long year for my family!!

Yet, in other ways, it is hard to believe that it is ending. Do you d, as I do, that the older we get the quicker the days and years go by???

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Would especially love to hear of any cultural or local traditions you may enjoy?!

One of my favorites, that I confess, I have not done in awhile.....
Swedish hot iron
cookies. These are a batter 'snowflake' design cookie The iron is dipped into the batter, then dipped and quickly fried Sprinkle with a touch of powder sugar. They are lite, crunchy and melt in your mouth!.
Strangely, it was a recipe shared by a friend. My family is of French and
English heritage. Lol!!
Hope to hear from some of you and what you and your family enjoy doing to celebrate!

In the meantime, hoping that everyone enjoys this season. Take the time to remember what the season is truly about. Remember to 'breathe' and enjoy the time for what it is meant to be!

GoDBlessings to all,

Linda

Fall is in the air.........HOORAY!!!!!

Ladies,

Hope that everyone is able to sense the change in the air!!

It has seemed forever, for most of us, to feel a cool air and breeze! Thank you, Heavenly Father for the change in seasons!! So looking forward to fall baking and decorating and crafting!!

I have spent the last couple days working on some crafts. I have posted here about the large roll top desk I got thru Craigs list.

It has some small and med cubbies in it. Total of about 11 in all. Was going to put little baskets in them to store crafting items. Then I had a brainstorm. A much less expensive idea. In fact, I am using what I have on hand already.
I began to wash up and save various , used and empty ,plastic food containers! Yogurt, sour cream, etc, you get the idea.

Some I will paint, glaze and embellish. Others I will cover with fabric and lace or paper alter them. I am NOT the craftiest. But I am learning and Brenda gives encouragement when I get too hard on myself and the finished product!! Lol! Thank you, dear friend!!

The larger cubbies each hold 3-16-20 oz containers and 1-2-4oz. There are 5 cubbies.
The smaller cubbies each hold 2-2-4oz containers and there are 6 cubbies.

Lots of room to get all my chipboard, stickers, fabric squares, beads, etc etc out of the drawers and boxes they are in!!! If I can get better at the 'upload' thing, lol, I will post pics next Wed???!!!

Today it is very gray and a bit overcast.

As a transplant from the west coast to middle America, I really didn't like the gray skies that are so often a part of the days and seasons here. Really missed the west coast sunshine of So Calif the past 2 years!

I felt the Lord led me to this move, yet I went kinda kicking and hollering the whole way!!?? Anyone ever get like that? *Smile*

Thankfully, and ONLY by HIS GRACE, I am at long last actually enjoying my new surroundings.
More than even enjoying? I am beginning to feel blessed to share this part of our country! Blessed that I am in an apt, where things that I am no longer able to take care of myself, are handled by our great maintenance crew here!

Blessed that I have a balcony that overlooks a lovely parklike setting and I can enjoy that AM cup of tea when the weather is nice!! Have a tiny garden!

Blessed that in coming from rural to suburban, I have many great large and small shops and coffee and tea houses to enjoy! Museums, antique stores and many lakes and parks!!

Most of all, blessed that I have an amazing daughter (I have an amazing 4 grown kids and 5 gkids) that I roomate with. She is full of laughter and art and paper altering crafts!

There are A LOT of differences to be certain. Thanks to prayer and His patience, I am little by little learning to be thankful for what He has granted me.

Thanks for visiting today, prayers for your day!!

Blessings,
Linda

Good Morning! It's a delayed post of 'Build your Home'!!

Hi Ladies!

Hope that everyone has had a good summer! Boy, it sure has been a HOT one this year!

Thankfully, at least here, rains are arriving and beginning to take the temps down a bit anyway.

It is hard to believe that school starts in many places next week.

With that in mind I would like to share one of my daughters fav recipes. Would be a quick, healthy dinner during the upcoming busy weeknights ahead. This meal easily feeds a group of 4-5 with leftovers for lunch the next day. Serve with a salad and nice french bread or baguette and you have a quick and yummy meal!

This was a food network recipe, I believe from Ina Garden?

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp (Not a seafood fan? Try chunks of chicken sauted in olive oil, garlic, italian herbs!)

1 large bag shrimp, med-lg shrimp
1 box angel hair pasta
2-3 lemons (we like 3)
Salt and Pepper to taste
(Optional: 1 can artichoke hearts, drained, and/or 1/2-1 cup chopped sundried tomatoes)
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees

Boil salted water for your pasta, add pasta according to directions. We like our pasta al dente. When done, save 1/2 cup of liquid, then drain. Return pasta to pan and set aside.

Place shrimp onto a no stick bake pan. Salt and pepper to taste, drizzle 1 tbl olive oil over
shrimp Bake at 350 degrees for 5 min.

Put shrimp into pan, heat of pasta will finish cooking shrimp.

Juice the lemons, discard seeds. Grate the peel of all the lemons for lemon zest

Add the lemon juice, grated zest, and 1/2 cup of pasta water into the pan and mix well. Add any optional ingredients if you wish.

Plate onto a serving dish, garnish with grated Parmesan or Romano chesse.

Serve with salad and bread if you like.

This is a simple and light dish that all will enjoy!!

Ladies, as the world seems to be going kinda crazy, and the economy seems to be falling apart? Never mind what may be going on within our own homes and lives..........PRAYERS for us all as we strive to be the women that the Lord desires us to become! I am finding that no matter how hard the day may be.......if I do not start the day with HIM........the day just does not have the same flow to it. Does anyone know what I mean? Oh, it is not a guarantee that all will go well, or there won't be a crisis........however, just knowing that I gave the day to HIM........gives me the strength and the hope that I may need for the day!!!

May God Bless each of you! Thank you for stopping by and saying hello!

Blessings, Linda

Blessings

Good Morning, We have been blessed with a nice little shower this morning. But it has left us with very humid weather. But I'm sure it was very much appreciated by all my plants on the balcony. I set out for a short time just to feel the mist against my legs. But as I was sitting there thinking about the blessings the Lord has shown me, And reading a book that Linda and I are doing together as a study, I began to think about the many friendships I've had throughout my 1st half of my life. And now that I'm working on the second half, how different we react to friends. As we mature and our activities have changed, we react differently in our conversations and our exception of what others may say to us. It's like we agree now, to disagree and not to judge the difference. We find now that we have different friends that are involved in different parts of our lives. For example, I have a very dear friend Debbie, that is all into the scrapbooking and we love to scrap together and hit the big sales. Than, theirs all my farmgirl friends, we like to share recipes and craft ideas and all the going green ideas. Then there are the exercise and reading and shopping friends. And like Mary and her dear husband, has been my other half and I, pals in many hours of game time. But I realized that when God brought Linda and I together as friends through the Mary Jane Farmgirl site, he was bringing me a friend that we can share our love and faith in Christ together. We basically have a long distence friendship, only meeting each other in person, twice. Which was a real blessing. But we keep the phone lines, text and email busy. We are here to study the word and to be there to support when we have our doubts and fears. When we just don't understand why things are going the way they are and it seems that the Lord is just not there with us, we know that the other can be honest and open about the situation. Knowing that by their words they aren't trying to hurt us or make us feel worse, but to see it from a different angle and help us work through it. Always leading us back to the point, God has always been there, it was us that ventured off. So today I would like to thank him for all the wonderful ladies he has brought into my life. I know now as a adult, not to take these relationship for granted. They are very precious and valuable to who I am and who I become. And knowing they were brought into my life by God, what else could I ask for. So I pray that today, you will love and keep in touch with those special ones, that have been placed in your life. Have a good day, and so happy you stopped by.

A REFLECTIVE DAY

Good Morning Ladies!

Hope that each of you are doing well and that God is teaching and showing all we 'allow' Him too.

I say that because He is showing me that very lesson, 'allowing Him'.

I had a rough day yesterday. A LOT of family issues and deep difficulties going on. Many people praying for and over us. Yet, at the end of the day, with about 5 VERY specific prayers being petitioned to the Lord on my families behalf?? It seemed only 1-2 were meant to be answered in the ways we hoped and prayed for!!!!!

I would really love to say that I, we, handled that well, graciously, and with praise. Some of my grown kiddos handled it much better than I, and are teaching and humbling their momma, LOL!

My heart just ached and ached yesterday as we awaited news from each other ,as the answers to each trial began to unfold. Each 'answer' from Him seemed to be a 'no, not now, no not the way you had hoped for, or a no'. To say I was confused and dissapointed is a bit of an understatement. My confusion quickly thruout the day went into feelings of despair and anger.

Each detail of the trials my family is going thru are of little importance. Some I have been sharing on/off thru the blog. It's life, each one of us in this world has to deal with things.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT................Whether I like it or not, whether I agree or not (and who on earth am I to question God's wisdom and authority, by the way), whether life makes me happy or not????? Bottom line, I am here on this earth, for however long, to serve God. My family and all it's members are here to serve God.

I am here FOR HIM AND HIM ALONE!!! He is not here to be my 'candy jar' Savior!! To grab 'my candy wishes of life' whenever I want them. Like it or not, confused by outcomes or not.............HE SEES THE WHOLE PICTURE...............of our lives, the beginning and the end. It is not a mystery to HIM!

More often than not, it is a mystery to us and we think we know what is best. Often what is best is what is 'safe' for our human minds to handle. We do not like to be out of our comfort zone or to have to completely trust HIS WISDOM , too much or too often!

Ladies, I still, today, do not have the answers, I am still a bit confused for sure. I am still a bit scared and uneasy to 'LET GO AND LET GOD'. As scripture teaches us, we are all a work in progress, clay being molded in His Image.

Sometimes that 'molding' process is hard, uncomfortable, and uneasy. I am not loving it too much honestly.

What I do know, for certainty, is that I love this Savior of mine, and yours, JESUS, who took all my lifetime of sin, lifetime of uncertainty, to that cross with Him, died then rose again. So that, in accepting Him, I may have forgiveness, and , eternal life with Him.

Because in spite of my bad days of discouragement like yesterday................He is still there and He loves me unconditionally. He still waits for me to have my tantrums, calm down again......and He is there to comfort so that I can try to move forward and accept HIS WILL, in preference to my own . I am so thankful for His Grace, His patience with me. I do not deserve it, yet I know He grants it to me.

Thank you to all who stop by and share with us. May God be holding you up thru whatever you might be dealing with. Prayers to all of you for your day!!

God's Blessings,

Linda

GOOD AFTERNOON!!!

Hello Everyone!

Hope all of you are having a good summer day. It has been HOT, HOT, HOT!

Thought we may share some green/energy efficient tips. Remember to keep windows and blinds closed during the hottest parts of these scorching summer days. It helps to keep the heat out and the a/c air inside, cooler! When not at home, set the thermostat at a higher temp to save energy and $$$$$$$ on the electric bill!!!

For cleaning, I had read somewhere to use coarse salt as a cleanser. Very eco friendly! Was out of cleanser once. So, I tried it and WOW it works like a charm. Even better than cleanser. It is great on bake and cookware as well without scratching. I have now used just about any salt I have on hand. Hardly buy cleansers anymore! And, we are not flushing even more chemicals down that drain! Give it a try!

Ladies, perhaps most of you have heard about Borders closing. My daughter has been a longtime employee. This is a hard time as now again some 11,000 people will be out of work. Hoping to find new jobs in an already tight job market.

We live in such troubling, discouraging times, don't we? I have to admit, this has been an extra rough week with a lot of fear, pain, and tears! I know the Lord is in control, admitedly some days better than others!!!!

Yet, despite all that is going on in our country, world, economy and our own financial situations.
We have just GOT to hold onto the Lord and HIS HOPE, not ours! Without it, we have nothing.

We are all confused, but HE IS NOT!!!

We will have very bumpy rides , OFTEN, in this life. We have to try to let go and trust, even tho
that is the hardest thing to do at times.

Praying for each of you! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to share.

Blessings,

Linda

Good Afternoon

When I sat down to send you all a message I thought it was still morning. So much going on and the time just passed by. I do hope that you all are having a nice summer. Here in Missouri, it's HOT!! It seems as though since the beginning of May to now things have just been crazy. For both of us, Linda and I and our families. We talk through all the craziness and think we've gotten through it all and along comes something else for the other family members. It's been unemployment, illness, taking care of elderly parents, teenage grandchildren, dealing with our own physical difficulties and everyday events. We were talking this morning about how would God react to all the hateful and rude people we run up against all the time out in the public areas. You want to put them in their place for some of the things they do that is so hurtful. And it makes you so angry that I usually turn around and leave yet carry the feelings deep inside. And you know what happens later if its not dealt with. Usually it comes out on someone else that it's not intended for. We discussed that God wouldn't quietly walk away. Of course he'd attempt at showing them the right way by example and a lasting lesson. What do you think, how would he handle this sort of person?? I don't mean to be a downer today, it's been a good one. But with the country in the mess it is right now, it's hard to keep up with the dreams and future plans. Yes, I know that a lot of our wants and dreams are not necessary, and will more than likely never occur. Really the only thing for sure~is that someday we will walk with the Lord in peace and wellness. So we need to hang on to that faith and let the Lord lead us where we can spread his goodness. I know that we are not the only ones struggling through a lot right now, and If you'd like to share with us, it helps to know others can truly understand. Of course you are all in our prayers at all times. But if there is something specific that you need extra prayer for, we are here for you. So go out and enjoy the life he's given us and make the best of it. Sending blessing to all, Brenda

GOOD MORNING!!!!

I hope that each of you are doing well this AM. Prayers for your day!

Ladies, as I was just reading a fellow blogger's post? I am reminded how life can just be SO CHALLENGING! Do you have days like that? I think that we all do.

Whether we get ourselves into a pit, or got there by accident (Thank you Beth Moore! Check into her book 'Get Out of That Pit'. A great book with a lot to think on). Anyway, life just throws its curves.

The Lord has been stretching myself, family , and many friends this summer season. Oh goodness, many others are going thru much worse, much more painful times to be certain. Yet, as the Lord guides, teaches and stretches, it can BE PAINFUL!!

Often times I am going into the stretch............... kicking and screaming! LOL!

My daily devotions by church email are on Hannah giving her son to the Lord. Each day I am , blessed by this teaching. Would any of us today be able to give God that step of faith? To totally let go not just spiritually, but physically of a child we so longed to have?

Yet, I think even today, in our own lives He asks us to do just that. With not just our kids but our families, friends, our situations.

Ladies, HE WANTS IT ALL!!!!!!

I find that to be scary sometimes, as I want to be the one in control??? Yet, goodness, my control is one wreck after another!!

Today, lets join one another and pray that we can 'SURRENDER' more of our lives to HIM.
'Let go and let God'. It is often a very 'out of our comfort' zone thing He asks of us.

Yet, as a dear friend, years ago, once reminded me? To be within His will, doing what He wants of us and desires for us? That is a far safer place to be than anything else is!! Ladies, this was a woman who spent most of her adult life paralized in a wheelchair. A situation that most of us would be hard pressed to find the blessings within. I hope to share more about her in another post.

Enjoy your day. Would love to hear your thoughts and how the Lord is working in your lives.

Bless each of you who stop by.

Blessings, Linda

GOING TO BE A STORMY DAY!!!

Good morning everyone!

Hope each of you are starting out with a good am?!

Looks like we will be having some stormy weather here today. Our farmers can use the rain so much tho!! Praise God!

Well, I finally got myself a desk. I LOVE IT!! It sure looked smaller in the peoples garage tho, LOL!! Will try to get a pic posted once I get it set up. It is a 9 drawer desk that is a rolltop and lots of cubbie holes. Great for stashing all those little craft items!! Any ideas that you may have for putting things in those cubbie holes, I am listening, he he he!!

Hope to make an eggplant parmesan for dinner tonight.

Here is my fav recipe:

1 very large or 2 med eggplants, sliced about 1/2 inch thick ( remove outer skin if desired)
1-2 cups spaghetti sauce ( I use organic Bertolli)
1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1 1/2 cups mozzarella shredded cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Dip slices in 1 well beaten egg, then dip into bread crumbs.
Saute slices in olive oil unti golden

layer slices in a baking dish. Place sauce over them, followed by some cheese. Continue to stack layers, usually 2-3 layers. Sprinkle the parmesan over the top layer. Bake, covered with foil at 350 degrees for about 3o minutes. Bake uncovered an additional 5-10 minutes.

Serve with salad and bread if you like. Enjoy!!!

Well, ladies, I hope things are going well with everyone? If not, and I can assure you, this summer is proving to be a VERY difficult one within my family. There have been health probs, family issues, death, legal difficulties, etc, etc, etc. There have been mornings when I just do not know what to do or how to think. Very challenging indeed.

I DO KNOW, that even tho what may lie ahead is scary and uncertain? I am so thankful to know that the Lord is there with me and my family and friends every step of the way. I honestly do not know how anyone hangs in there without HIM!!

I am holding onto life each day with Romans 8:28. One of my favorite scriptures.
'All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose"

So thankful to each of you who stop by to visit. We would love to hear your thoughts, prayer requests and comments.

May our Lord bless and guide your day!

Blessings, Linda

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!

Good afternoon all!!

Hope that all of you are enjoying your day, no matter where or what you are doing.

Brenda is enjoying a Bbq and fireworks with family.

I am enjoying a quiet day at home and will enjoy fireworks from my balcony later!

One of my daughters and her kids are Bbqing with a friend and her son, then going to the river for fireworks.

My other daughter is caring and watching my mom, who is recouperating from surgery. Any of you in a care giving role for parent or family member may know how tough this can be. My mom has some mental difficulties and is not the easiest person under even the best of circumstances. Would greatly appreciate your prayers!!

Today, may we remember and be so thankful for our nation. Which, despite our difficulties and differences?..........we are still a blessed nation with freedoms most cannot even fathom.

May God Bless us and our great land!

A Blessed 4th to you all!!

A HOT SUMMER DAY HERE!!!

er truckHi Ladies,

Boy is summer coming in here with a vengence! It is in the 100's and HUMID!!

My little container garden is loving it though and doing well.

I have found myself a desk, hooray! Already picked up the drawers, getting the 'desk' part tomorrow. Needed to have my daughter go tomorrow with her truck. Patience, or non patience, lol, pays off. I found a beautiful roll top desk with 9 drawers various cubby holes at back of desk and on top! It is beautiful and will work so well for my craft supplies and such! YEA! I can finally get some things out of boxes at last.

With help of grandkids, I have rearranged my small bedroom. But, I love how it turned out and I am feeling very cozy and at home in it. Little by little I am adjusting better to this move after 2 yrs!! Has anyone ever done a huge major move out of state or even the country? Would love to hear your stories and how you adjusted.

I hope all of you are doing well and that life is treating each of you with God's grace and kindness

Please let us know what we can pray for you in your life.

As life does throw us curves for certain, no matter how strong of faith we may be.

My daughter and I were in my other daughter's nice air conditioned van when........boom.....break down!! The power stearing is now shot and the van will be parked for awhile. As we all waited for the tow truck.....we laughed and giggled at what a BAD week, month, year? it had been. Laugh or cry or both right.........?????

But, thank you Lord, if it had to breakdown, it did so at a spot where we could pull into a parking lot by a huge tree that gave shade while we waited. Thanking Him for the small little blessings and the big ones for sure!!!

Hope each of you can take the time to just rest and reflect in Him each day!!

Welcome to all who stop by.

Blessings, Linda

Happy Saturday Morning To All!!

Good AM Ladies,

Well it has been a crazy hectic week as we got my mom settled in after her surgery. She is staying at my daughter's for awhile to recouperate and heal. Could REALLY use your prayers as my mom is a very difficult personality to deal with under good circumstances!!!!

It is a sunny and hot day here today. Already gave my little container garden a watering!

Hope to get a section of my room done. Trying to come up with storage ideas and get some things unpacked!! How is it that we always have more stuff than space? Lol!!

Any ideas will be appreciated greatly!!

What are your plans for today? Would love to hear what everyone is up to?

Welcome to our new followers and those who stop by!!

Correction

Ladies,
Having some trouble with our blog acct at times in posting and in corrections. I made an error in the title below, it is 'Building Our Homes'. When I tried to correct the typo, I couldn't.
Sorry for the error!!

Buildind Our Homes

Hi Ladies,
It is 'Building Our Homes' Wed!
Check out this group that is forming over on:
Just some like minded ladies that want to share ideas of the home, scriptures that bless, etc. Thank you to Linda at Prairie Flower for her idea.
For me, my goals are to keep working at making my smaller living space more comfortable and workable. My small bedroom is also my craft desk space. Any small space ideas would be appreciated!
I am working on rearranging my furniture to make it more functional and relaxing.
I think that 'going up' the walls does create more storage, as well as baskets, etc.
I am going thru old family photos again and trying to get them in a good organized form. Will keep them in lg shoe boxes that I hope to decorate and keep out so they can be enjoyed by all.
Looking for inexpensive baskets to keep mail and magazines (Mary Jane Farm?) in as well.
Brenda has been very busy as she is in a moving mode these days. A place that will bring some added comfort (deck) and more privacy. She is doing a yard sale this week and totally is downsizing and getting simpler. But is is HARD as we all go thru our treasures to let go and start anew. But I think in the end it is all worth it.
I began repotting some herbs, veg and flower plants that I got at the farmers mkt. Little by little I will get the balcony the comfort zone I hope it to be!!
I am working at being more faithfull with my scripture and prayer time these days. Brenda and I are trying to finish up Beth Moore's 'Get Out Of That Pit' bible study. It has been a true blessing, this study. Helps you to learn to let go and move onward!!!
I have seen the Lord's hand in so many 'little details' recently. Too many to describe here. But enough for a great big smile as I remember how much stress my family and I allowed ourselves to spend time on..........and the Lord had it handled, as usual, all along.
I pray and hope for a blessed day for all. Whatever you may be going thru, whatever fears or stress that my be laying on your heart? Remember He is ALWAYS there!! Even if you do not feel some instant answer, He hears you and He is listening!!!
Welcome to all of you who stop by and visit us here. We appreciate the time that you took to say hello!

Farmers Market Day!

Good morning all!
Well it is a warm and sultry day here today. Hit the farmers market early before it got too crowded or warm! I got some 'treasures'. I will try to post a pic here tomorrow of my little stash!!
I am just learning the.....posting pics thing......with the help of my daughter and friends.
Well, today I will repot the herb plants, veggie plants and the annuals that I picked up today. Supporting local farmers is GREAT!! Plus, I got some great prices. Be sure and check out your local farmers mkts where you are. Got my herb and veggie starts, and the annuals for only $1.00 each. You will not find that price even at your Walmart, I bet!!! Also picked up some tomatoes and rhubarbs. Will pick up some strawberries and plan to make a couple jars of strawberry/rhubarb jam.
I will use the recipe shared by a blogger/farmgirl friend over on her blog. Check it out!
My goals over the next few days are to 'try' and organized my bedroom. A couple yrs ago, I made a major move from a rural house to a city apt. Downsizing is not an easy task, especially when some of your things are in storage far away! Yet, I am determined to make it work!
I saw a desk at Big Lots this AM that would for certain help with my craft stack!! The desk is basically 2 file cabinets with a desk top on it, TRULY. The desk top could be taken off. You buy them separately for close to $200.00 total!
Sooooo.......got me thinking......for around $60.00? I could get file cabinets, and have them saw the right size of lumber at the 'man store', thats what my daughter calls them, he he he. Then get paint in a color that would work.......and voila.....I will have the same desk at a price that I can handle much better!!!! What do you all think? And by the way? Didin't we do these same things in the 60's and 70's??!!!! Now its 'cool' to buy them already made at a hefty price!! Go figure, LOL!!!
Well, I will go for now. Time to repot my treasures from the farmers mkt. Hang and place them on my balcony. I will enjoy my AM tea tomorrow while I look at my new plants and flowers and have my quiet time with the Lord! He is so good and faithful! No matter what you are going thru, just know He is there even on the days we may not feel His presence as we should. NOT because He has left us......but because we may have Him at arms length.
I know and understand those days all too well. Trials and days of stress are not fun at all. We seem to have many in this day and time.
Just remember to take time out and enjoy Him and His creations!!
God's Blessings,
Linda

Errand Day!!

Good Morning Ladies!
This morning I headed out early to run errands, grocery shop, etc. Got out early before the heat and crowds!
Got myself a decaf coffee and spent a few minutes, quietly with the Lord, at my fav park spot here. It is just a beautiful place with lakes and ducks and geese. I love to just sit by one of the little lakes and just have some quiet thinking time. What blessings the Lord has given us in His nature that He created. We get so busy, so often, these days. Take a few minutes when you can and go and enjoy some time at a fav quiet spot that you may enjoy.
Would love to hear what some of those spots are, ladies! Whether on your property, around or in your home or apt. Please share your stories!!
A hearty welcome to all who stop by and share a visit with us!
May God Bless your day!
Enjoy, Linda

Just checking in

Hi everyone, just checking in to see how everyone has been. Having some problems with posting here. So this is kind of a trial run.

Saturday, May 28, 2011

GOOD MORNING!!

Hope that all of you ladies are doing well this morning!
Well, I had a fun and interesting day the other day!!. I went to a farm animal auction in Amish country here. When I figure out how to post pics better, I will post some here!!! Sigh!
I was able to meet a blogger/MJF farmgirl sister as well. That was an added treat to meet her and her family!! What a blessing they are!!!
I also met a new friend. We sat by one another during a lot of the auction. Will stay in touch via internet!
It is sooo amazing how much 'smaller' our world keeps getting thru the internet isn't it?
Kind of like a new version of pen pals!!
The weather was just beautiful as well. Warm at first, then a cool afternoon breeze. A WONDERFUL change after a week of some scary and damaging storms.
Keep us all in prayere ladies? Think that this may be a heavy storm summer for mid America!
This weekend starts the kick off of summer season. Any of you have special plans for the weekend? Hope everyone stays safe and blessed. Remember all those past and present who have sacrificed so much to serve!!
Have a good day!!

RAINY, STORMY DAYS!!!!

Good afternoon ladies,
My goodness it has been a stormy few days. Our hearts and prayers go out to those hard hit, especially in Reading, Ks and Joplin, Mo.
If you feel led, please help out. There are donations to Red Cross, etc. Those of us closer can drop off donated supplies to local stores and businesses. What a blessed country we live in, that no matter what we may be going thru we are ready to help our neighbors, both here and abroad!
Would like to share some sites that I go to and get blessed and refreshed. Perhaps have shared some before, so sorry, if I have.
Ewomen.net, Biblegateway, Homesteading Today, Countryside small stock and journal, Revive our hearts. I know Brenda has many craft and fun sites she may want to share also.
Please know that we appreciate our followers, and those who may just swing by for a quick look and visit! Let us know how you are doing and what things you are doing. Gardens, crafts, etc?
Would love to hear about them!
May God Bless each of you and enjoy your day!

Time for Reflection

A blessed evening greeting to all!
Brenda and I had a long overdue, much needed bible study and chat, tears and laughter over the phone today!!
Thank you dear friend for your never ending waves of support, kind words and reminders of that no matter what, God is still God and His strength will get us thru, no matter what we are trying to face.
I do not say that lightly. I promise that I have 'been there, done that'. Whatever you may be facing today, know that Brenda and I want to remember you in prayer for your strength as well.
Times in this world are hard, and at times we just want to give up!
I think that truly, in our weakness, HE IS STRONG!!
I have to begin a new chapter with this move of nearly 2 yrs ago. One might think that is enough time to adjust, and certainly stop the pity party!!!
As I closed out a lot of the physical parts of my former home, I have had time to think, reflect and I hope in time to move forward.
I LOVE the country. With soooo much farmland within a few miles away, one would think I am in heaven here. Does not feel like that, defineately still adjusting to 4 season weather, and city apt living.
However, this evening I want to try to focus on the blessings that I do have. Perhaps, prayerfully, each AM do the same in my quiet time with Him.
Any of you that are going thru any rough spots, we want to hear and be a support system for one another.
Thank you to all who stop by and visit wiith us. Our apologies to all for the length of time between blogs. Prayerfully hoping to improve on that! Hoping tomorrow to share some of our fav web spots and blogs.
May each of you have a good evening!
May God Bless and Strengthen Each of You!

A BEAUTIFUL CALIFORNIA DAY!!

Yes, I am in Calif for awhile! It was in the upper 80s today. Clear blue skies! Spring is in the air here for certain! As I am dealing with some personal probs here, I am trying more than ever to lean on the Lord and rest in His wisdom. I am failing more than not, but I am trying. Our faith is a journey isn't it? A daily process of sometimes holding on for dear life, even when nothing seems to make sense. You ladies who stop by to visit are a joy! We love having you. May I ask for prayer for a couple families going thru some health crisis? Details do not matter, God knows. Just please pray that God continue to heal and lift them up. Thank you all! Blessings, Linda

Busy Days

Do you find that everyday there seems to be a list of "to do's". How do you check them off??? Just getting the energy or will to get started sometimes, actually more often than not. Why is it we put off things that when finished we can find some peace of mind? Is it fear, sadness, confusion from so many on the list, depression, or do you just question "Why" it won't help any! I have found that when I fall into one of those situations, I realize that I've not left anytime for the things that are important to me, things I enjoy, things that makes me a better person! When I allow myself time to think about it, my first thought goes to God and I realize that I have been saying when I get all the list finished, I'll set down with him and have a conversation about all of this. Well, if your any thing like I am, by the time I do get around to working on the list, I'm so tired that all I can think about is taking a nice bath and heading to bed. But I know that if I were to pick up my bible and get lost in my bible studies that I will come away feeling renewed. So I'm going to put up a challenge for myself to get up every morning, and first thing thank him for this new day. Then with my first cup of tea, he and I will have a deep discussion about the new day we will be traveling through together. I know I need his guidance, for in one single day we are overloaded with so many decisions to make. Sometimes I tend to take the easy way out when I know with a little more thought and work, I'd be doing what God really wants me to do. I have one great fault of letting the phone calls, text, appointments etc. get in the way of what I know is more important. So I would like to ask for prayer's that I will become more disciplined in my visits with God before my day begins. And if you are struggling with this as I am, prayers for all our readers that we can meet back here with a lighter heart. Lord, we desire to hear your word and direction, and we know that we need to set our priority's. Help us Lord that we can condition our life that our day starts always with you. We love you, and thank you for all the blessings you have shown us. Amen Let's go out and spread his words to others! Hugs,Brenda

Yoga

Hi everyone, thought Spring was here, yet we had snow yesterday and possibly tomorrow. Linda and I are members of the Mary Janes Farm girl site. One of our farmgirl sisters, Casey, is a Yoga instructor. I was reading her post and I left a message that I struggle with fibromyalgia, and she reported back that she'd love to help me out. I've heard alot about the help of Yoga and since I can't get much exercise because of the pain, I told her I'd like to try this. She than said she'd like to share with all of us on the blog. Last week was a very painful week and I was so ready to just throw in the towel. As they say! But I ran across Casey site and I just felt the Lord was showing me something new to try. Bless her heart for saying she'd stop in and give us some pointers. So when you see her here, give her a warm Welcome. I'm praying that we all can pick up some ideas to help us all out. So be sure and check back in and leave a message for Casey, Bring it one girlfriend! Also before I sign off, I do pray that as we go about our busy days, That we will stop throughout the day and just see the blessings the Lord has provided for us. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs,Brenda

New Seasons

God's Blessings To All!!

Well, even tho, many of us are facing still some storms and cold weather, I just know that the warm days of spring are around the corner!!

As well as a new season, many of us have gone thru many different changes these past many months. Whether jobs, homes, empty nest, marriages, loss of loved ones etc. Life can defininately bring about some changes now . Sometimes we are prepared, sometimes we get hit with surprises that we did not expect or want.

The seasons of life often bring us to our knees and lean onto the Lord in ways we never thought we could!

Let's keep one another in prayer as we go about life and gather strength from one another and the Lord!

May God Bless your Days.

I am so very thankful for His grace, comfort and guidance in my life!

Time for Prayer

Good Morning everyone! It seems that more and more, conversations between friends is focusing on the state of our nation. Like myself there is so many that are without a job, trying to keep up with the bills, grocery's and the Gas prices!!! Yikes! For many that have the job, getting there is going to be difficult. What is there for us to do to help this settle down. We write letters and send messages to our government heads, but still don't see anything easing up. I heard a message this morning about riding the storm in the eye of the storm. In other words, If we don't let the concerns of where our world is, as we have seen it, and is changing right before our eyes, control us and feel defeated, buy leave it with our Lord, All will be good. If we aren't in the eye of the storm with God, where there is peace within, there can be destruction and hopelessness in everything of our life. Let's join together today to pray to God, that we know all is in his hands and we will be waiting for him in the eye of the storm, with continued prayer for our nations and loved ones and friends. That they too, can find the place of calmness in the eye. Full of belief and trust. I'm praying that all of you have a feeling of peace and love today with the Lord. Hugs, Brenda

Prayer's needed

Not only is my son and his wife are struggleing with other issues, now the 17 year old daughter who lives with her mom, is really trying to cause family problems. She's started at a new school last year and ever since it seems that she is greatly changing. Her mom doesn't want her to have anything to do with my son. He's been there from day one and has done everything possible to help her. He is rules to follow and she just doesn't like that. I know that this is a hard age, but we miss her and love her dearly. But that is not enough for her. My son acts like it will pass, yet he is hurting inside. So could you please pray that she knows she has a family that loves her and that the behavior he believes that a young lady should show is by far a long way from that. If only she could see that everything she is doing "Will" effect her future. I know from my own experience and just pray that the young ones could hear our experience and save them the trials that goes with them. If anyone has had this experience with a young family member, I would love to hear your advice. So far, we are continuely praying. Love to all of you, Brenda

Heart's Breaking

Have you ever experienced a time when your heart is just breaking for members of your family. And there's really nothing you can do!!! I love these family members soooo much, and just worry about what they are dealing with. I can't buy their happiness or place it on a platter and hand it to them. I can't make anyone change to help them out. My hands are tied!! I pray and pray for them, and just don't see anything changing for them. Do you ever just get frustrated that God can't move a little faster with the fix??? I know, all things are in his timing. But the hurt and saddness is just breaking my heart. I can cry barrel's of tears but it's not going to help. Just wanted to share this with you and ask for prayer that the ones I love will find some answers. I know God has his plans all set, and we just need to wait and believe and trust in him. I guess it's times like this that we grow with patience. If you are in a place that you don't know what is the right thing to do, I pray that you can find that peace of waiting until the Lord shows the way. Hope everyone is having a good day! Blessings, Brenda

MORE SNOW!!!

Good afternoon!

Well, the weather report is for more snow tomorrow and the next day! Went to the store and I think I am now set for the rest of the month, LOL!

Our prayers are for everyone as this winter snow has been very hard on so many. Many have been left without power at times.

We have a blogger friend, 'Prairie Flower Farm' that could use our support. Her family is attemping to adopt an adorable little guy. Certainly seems like a plan of the Lord!! Anyway, many of us are trying to donate handmade items to help raise money for the family. If any of our followers would like to help out, please let us know and leave a comment. We will get details to you.

Isn't the family of God amazing? To work together and bring about His will is always a blessing to behold!!

Thank you to all our blogger friends who follow us. May God bless and enrich your day!

Blessings, Linda

Cold, Snowy Mornings!

Good Morning All!

Well, it has been a tough winter, more so for some ! I hope that everyone is hanging in there this morning!

I must admit, I am not a big fan of the cold, let alone snow. However, thankfully, my area is not as hard hit as some, including Brenda's!

I find myself with this recent snow storm, being more at peace with staying indoors, kinda stuck, LOL!

I have taken the time to rest, reflect and think on things..........things I need to get done, physically, mentally, spiritually. Maybe nature is the Lord's way of making us slow down? In this fast paced world of ours anymore, we are always sooo busy. Our minds never really rest with the ease of cell phones, computers, and every entertainment tech device at our fingertips!!

If you can, while about your busy day........take some moments to just get quiet before Him.

It is what He desires from us most.

Have a very blessed day!!

Blessings, Linda

LIVE FOR IT!

I've been reading a fiction book about a lady that had lost her young daughter in a accident. I could go on and on to get to the point, but basically her life stopped. She became a friend to one of the new ones in town. He was much older than her and he was raising his little grand-daughter. They became very good friends and he seemed to see right into her heart. He asked her to close her eyes and imagine something she would die for~~~then go out and live for it! But it has to be living. That stopped me right away. He was trying to show her that she'd never forget her precious daughter, but she needs to let her go, she wouldn't want her mother living like this. The first thought I had was, I would die for the Lord. Than I thought my children and grandchildren. I thought it would have to be my grandchildren, because they are at the age that they need guidance and teaching of the Lord. Than it occurred to me that I had already made that choice to die for the Lord. He knows this and I feel he has me here to show others what a life with Christ is like and help them to make the chose as they feel is right for them. Even though I'm writing this right now, the question still stays in my mind. How would you answer this question if someone approached you for an answer?? I believe that he places things, people, occasions into our life to put our mind into motion. And with this one, he for sure has done that. As you go about your day, take the time to ponder this. It could be a very important question for us to delve into. Go forward and have a very blessed day!

Letter to my High School Self

Linda and I belong to the Mary Jane's Farmgirl site. One of our farmgirl friends posted yesterday on her blog, "My letter to my High School self." I thought it very interesting! Boy oh Boy! if I had all the answers back then, it sure would have kept me out of some of the trials I've gone through. Than the thought came to me, would God want us to know how things were going to work out, or are the situations there to teach us and lead in the right direction. Because, believe me, I have learned a lot over the last 40 years since graduating high school. And at times wished I had known what was ahead of me. I think I'd start my letter to myself kind of like this:
Ok girl, you've grown up in the city and now your thinking of moving to a small town, stop and think this through. But I was in love and I would have followed him anywhere. Then I'd say to me, He wants you to be a stay at home mom and wife, which sounds wonderful. I than would tell me, that I should get some college behind me. Too late, I'm already walking down the isle. Then I'd say, your a very trusting one, but you have to pay attention to what others are saying and doing. And the most important thing I said to me, you believe and love the Lord, but that's not all you need to do spiritually. Well as I think back on these little conversations with myself, I realize that I have grown to be a strong person living in the country, a softer person, caring and doing for others. Stay at home/working mom, I think I did what was best for my children and myself and relationship with my husband. Everybody's life is different and many ladies work things out better in the working group, which I totally admire. Keeping a home and taking care of your family, is very tiring and hard work. But I feel blessed that I was able to be a stay at home mom. We may not have had all the Things, with a capital T, that we would have had if I had worked outside the home, but we had a happy home and the children was glad I was there after school. There are times when I thought I should have gone to college, and even do today. But I've been in the caring place most of my life. Raising my kids and helping with my grand-kids and taking care of my elderly parents. Had I gone on to get a degree, there would have been a lot I would have missed out on. As far as my trust of others, for many years it worked well for me and I had many happy times. But have learned that I must be aware of who, what, and where the situations goes. As far as my relationship with God, from the time when I was a teenager, I Believed, and Loved the Lord. All through my young adult life I thought I was right where I was suppose to be with Christ. When I was in my early 40's I went to a ladies retreat at church, for the weekend. When I came out of that study, I came out of there a different lady. I know longer only believed and loved the Lord, and knew about him, I KNEW HIM! Praise the Lord!!! Don't get me wrong, I still have little sit backs and have my struggles, but know that I can't do it alone. I need him walking beside me at all times. I believe he is, prays he is, and knows that he will guide me in the right directions. I've made many wrong decisions, and only with God am I getting through them. But looking back at that teenager, I don't think she made any really bad decisions. With God going along with them all, they worked out pretty good. And for that I thank the Lord. Maybe now, I'll write as a adult to the high school me!! Show her where she made, maybe not so good decisions and how proud of her I am, even with the little boo boos. Try this looking back and see what the Lord shows you about your past. But the most important thing is, We've made it here and we are who we are meant to be. And if we continue to walk with the teacher who loves us unconditional, I look forward to the years to come. Make this day a loving, caring and worship day to the Lord.

I am still doing picture sorting, but resting a bt more today. Just taking it a bit easy and relaxing some. Reflecting on things that the Lord may be guiding me in and new things He may be teaching me.

I pray that each of you are resting in His peace! God bless your day!

MEMORIES

Good morning all!

I have been sorting thru boxes and boxes of photos that came from my parents house, as my mom hasn't the space to store them anymore. WOW!!! SO many memories and then also looking at the very, very old pics of great-great and older? family members from way back in the 1800s.

I have smiled, laughed, and cried while looking at them. What an archive of family treasure!!

As I sort thru and catagorize? I think on the past and the memories that I have thru so many years. Some good, some not. Some very painful as you get reminded of the wrongs that may have been done to you.

My goal for today and hopefully for the days ahead? I want to 'catagorize' the memories in my mind. Remember with joy and fondness the good, joyful and precious times. Put into perspective the not so good ones. Try to prayerfully, 'Let go and Let God'. Put them into the hands of our Lord and let Him take them! I am not at all good at doing this, even tho I know that it is what He wants us to do always!!

Why do we usually focus more on the bad, the hurt, the pain longer and stronger than the positives in our lives? It only serves to keep us from LIVING our lives. Living our lives is a precious gift from the Lord. When we focus more on the 'bad', we only give power and control to those that that may have caused the pain to begin with!! Often times these people have passed away or are no longer a part of our lives at all!!

I do not say all of this lightly, as I am 'preaching to the choir' as the saying goes. I struggle daily to focus on the good, and trying to let go of the past stresses as well as whatever I might be daily facing! So, I assure you, I completely understand what many of you may have dealt with in the past, or face today. As I have shared with Brenda, I think I have experienced truly about everthing good and bad this world can offer. Whether my own mistakes or mistakes of friends and family, I have honestly 'been there, done that'. Nothing surprises, offends, or shocks me. At times I let that fact get me down too much? Just think, WHAT IF? Perhaps the Lord has allowed certain life lessons, and in my own self serving mistakes, He wants to use those to help others feel that they are not so alone? So often, in church, and with friends and family, we put on the happy face. So afraid of what others might think if we become truly honest and share our pain, but also our hopes to heal and become better women for the Lord??!!!! I pray that this may be a place for you to feel you can safely share the good and the bad, and let's all move forward, prayerfully, together! Grow and learn together! It is a process of good and bad days in this journey. Let's try to get more of the good days, days where no matter what, we can keep leaning on His strength and His grace! Oh, I thank Him sooo much for His grace and patience with me!!!

I pray that each of us can begin, starting this day, to TRULY lay our burdens down, our mistakes, our failures, at the foot of the cross. Begin, this day, to heal and move forward to the joys and the trust in Him that He wants to show us. He desires for us to be whole persons.

May He grant each of those out there that are hurting, to reach out and let Him take us on a healing journey.

Praying for each of you!!
Brenda and I are thankful for each of you that visit us here!

Blessings,

Linda

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE CHALLENGE!!!!

Good Morning All!!

Well, Brenda and I are on a daily quest to find daily gratitude. We are doing the 30 day gratitude challenge thru:

http://www.reviveourhearts.com/

We are trying to find the positive in our daily lives and circumstances, finding the 'glass half full', rather than 'half empty'. It is not easy? But, it is the way I think that the Lord would prefer we look at things? There are going to be tough days for certain. But, I think He wants us to be continually renewing our minds unto Him and what His plans are for us!!

Join us in this! Share your thought with us!

In case some of you are having trouble posting? We are looking into that and hope to get it resolved. Keep checking back with us ok?

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your day today!

Blessings,
Linda

Better Days!!!!

You know those times when you just feel soooo 'not worthy' and unable to get done all the things that you know He has called you to do? Well, I am so at this place lately. It is tough to get thru those feelings when you are in the midst of them!!

This morning I went to one of my favorite sites:

www.reviveourhearts.com

Todays lesson was on EXACTLY what I have been feeling. What a blessing the Lord gave me this AM on this site. Gave me a lot to think about and to strive for.

Does not mean that I suddenly got it together or that even I am instantly feeling better. Yet, it has given me a push and a hope that I can plow thru the morning and try to move forward in a more positive direction?!

Also, look into:

www.ewomen.net

Both these sites will give you a blessing each morning!!

I pray that each of you have a good day today!

Love that you stop by. Please leave a comment and say hello. Both Brenda and I hope to hear your stories and learn from one another!!

God Bless,
Linda

A Blessed New Year to All!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!
Hooray, got my computer back last night! My SIL, bless him, got it fixed for me!! It was having serious issues, LOL!
Well, it is a brand New Year! I gave up on resolutions a LONG time ago. Usually mess them up by the 1st week! But, Some 'goals' for this year are to grow in my faith and relationship with the Lord. Next in line, to begin to TRULY prioritize my life, and get the things done that matter,be with friends and grow those relationships of family and friends that matter. Also, to work on health issues and make them as better with life quality as I am able to. Tall orders, but in HIS strength we can get much done, if we look to Him for guidance and the strength and wisdon to carry it all thru!!

What are some of your goals? Please comment and share with us here. Lets all pray for one another in this New Year and see what good things may be in store for us as we learn lifes lessons.

Have a good day everyone!

Blessings,
Linda

Happy New Year's !!!!!

Can you believe it, it's 2011! Man I don't know where 2010 went. I look back and realize I didn't get much done. But the blessings that I have had are amazing. The first one comes as a meeting of the farmgirl henhouse, "Scattered Prairie Gals". Girls I want to thank you for your friendship, support and prayer's. To think that if I had never picked up that first Mary Jane's farm magazine, and got on line and joined in, my life would be much less full of new sister's. We had such a good time and several new girls have joined us, and looking forward to our next get together. Then of course all my grand-children. The oldest that is away to college, We only was able to see him a couple of times, but they were the bestest time. I watched as each time he was able to come home the growth into a young man I so love. I can still see the little guy, with a head full of curls. Then the one that is a Jr. in high school, he's just a unbelievable teenage boy! He keeps the grades up, like straight A's in advance classes. Plays Varsity Footfall and plays for a traveling baseball team. Has a p/t job, and says he knows where he's taking his life after college. Some say he has big dreams, but if anyone can do it will be him. I always told my children they can be and do anything they desire, and have past this on to the grand-children. There is so much negative given to children today, I feel that is one thing the Lord has given me, is a way to show them positive and how to work through the impossible to your dream. Then I have another grand-son that will be a sophomore and he is doing well in his studies and really into football and track. He believes he may make it to the Olympics with his gifts in track. There again a wonder dream! Then we have the 11 year old grand-daughter that already wants to be a pastry chef! We get to sample her creations! Then I have another grand-daughter who is a Jr. in high school, and 17???? She also is doing well in school, working a part time job and crazy about her boyfriend. Isn't that typical!! I just imagine by now that you know very well how much I love these children and are so proud of them, which leads to my son and daughter doing a good job that they were taught to do. But none of the blessings would I have if the Lord had not given them to me. This has been a rough year with hubby and I experiencing a year of unemployment. We have learned to live a lot differently. And can get down quite often. But when you look back and see what he has brought to our lives, no grumbles. God is good and knows what is good for us. In each down time, he's teaching something good. Everyone have a wonderful day and share your love of Christ with others. Will be back so0n. Brenda
